SOS. Panic Button

- What is the SOS button?

This is our new feature that allows your child to notify you in case of danger or other emergency situation. Children can find the SOS button when they open Kidslox under remaining time.

PIN code is not required to activate the feature.

- How does it work?

Once the child presses the “SOS” button, a 5 second countdown starts.
After 5 seconds a parent will receive a special notification with a sound on their device, also an email will be sent to the registered email address.

If the child accidentally presses the button - they can cancel the request and the parent will not receive any notifications.

- What can parents do?

If a parent receives a notification, they can choose one of the following:

1) “Get directions” - the system will show the recently updated child’s location and will suggest you to make a route to the child via maps. (If location tracking is activated, the parent will see the latest tracked location and time)

2) “Situation resolved” - the parent can inform us that everything is ok. The child might have activated the SOS button accidentally. Once the parent is sure that the child is ok, they can close the request by tapping on this button.

- Can I turn this feature off?

Yes, if you wish to turn it off, do the following:

- Open Kidslox on your parent device 

- Tap on your account (top left corner)

- Tap on “SOS Panic Button”

- Swipe the toggle near the needed device to the left

The SOS Panic button won’t be shown on the child’s device.
