This article explains what the Telescope Feature in Kidslox is and how to enable and manage it on a child’s Android device. It also describes how screenshots are taken, where to view them, and any limitations of the feature.
To activate the Telescope Feature on your devices, please, make sure that both of them (Parent and Child) run the latest versions of Kidslox.
When you open Kidslox on your Parent device, you'll see the Telescope bar under the Daily Limit count. If you receive a note "Oops, setup needed", please check the accessibility setting on your child's device and turn it on (the steps to find this option may vary depending on the type of Android device, but you can type 'Accessibility' in the search bar in the device settings on the child's device).
The Telescope Feature can make screenshots within different timeframes. You may adjust it to your liking or disable completely by choosing the corresponding option. To do so, open Statistics > scroll down to find the Telescope tab > tap on the gear icon next to it > choose your option > set. Please note, that Telescope takes screenshots only when the child's device is in Child mode.
Kidslox statistics will show you 9 recently taken screenshots, to see all of them tap 'View All'.
We would like to mention, that there is a certain category of apps that do not allow snapshots be taken (banking apps, Netflix, and similar streaming platforms). So Kidslox will not be able to capture them.
Screenshots are stored on our server for 7 days. Please, be assured that they are subject to our security policy and are not shared with third parties.
