The content blocking feature contains 6 elements, 4 of which are activated by default when you first set up a device to be supervised by Kidslox. You can find them on the 'Apps' tab > Web filtering, for any device supervised by your Kidslox account.
These elements consist of:
Content blocked by Kidslox - (on by default when the device is first placed under Kidslox control) - a blacklist of over 4 million URLs deemed inappropriate for children across a range of areas including porn, gambling, violence/hate, hacking, and cult/occult. The list is compiled by a 3rd party and updated on a weekly basis.
Content blocked by you - (off by default when a device is first placed under Kidslox control) - here you can manually add any URLs you'd like to block your child from accessing.
Internet access - (off by default when a device is first placed under Kidslox control).
iOS: enabling this feature will completely disable Internet access on the device (wifi or cellular data). All the apps that require internet access for their work won't load and you will see a 'no internet connection' error, Kidslox will still work.
Android: enabling this feature will disable Internet access for web browsers on the device (wifi or cellular data). Some of the apps that require internet access for their work won't load and you will see a 'no internet connection' error, Kidslox and some other apps will still work.
Safe search: Google Safe Search, Bing Safe Search, and Youtube Restricted Mode - (on by default when a device is first placed under Kidslox control) - enabling these 3rd party safety features ensures they are active on all browsers installed on the device.
For all of these web filtering features, the closed green lock shows that they are active and the open gray lock shows that they are currently disabled.
