To set a reward for your child, you need to open Kidslox, go to the ‘Time’ tab, ‘Time Rewards’.
After you tap on the ‘Time Rewards’ section you’ll see 2 active rewards (‘Homework’, ‘Tidy room’) and 1 inactive (‘Take care of a pet’) that were set by default.
You can activate any of these rewards by swiping the toggle to the ON position or you can create a new task by tapping the ‘Add Rewards’ button at the bottom of the screen.
Select among some other presets or add your own > name it > choose the time to be rewarded when the task is completed and tap ‘Save’.
Once you enable or create a task, a notification will be sent to your child with the details.
To inform their parents about the completion of the task and that they deserve extra screen time, children need to tap the Kidslox icon to open the PIN screen. Under the daily limit timer, they will see a ‘Time Rewards’ button, which leads to the ‘My Rewards’ screen.
To claim a particular reward, they need to press ‘I’m ready’ on it. At this point, a notification is sent to the parent device with the reward claim, and the child will need to wait for a parent's approval.
To approve or reject the reward, tap the notification > enter your Kidslox PIN and the list of your child’s rewards will open. Find the task with ‘Reward requested’ status. Now you can choose ‘Approve’ the reward and allow extra screen time, or ‘Deny’ the reward telling your child to go on trying.
In both cases, the child will receive a notification, either saying that the reward was approved, or that the task is not finished yet.
Please note, all time rewards are set to be completed every day. Once you have approved the reward, it renews and the child is able to complete it again as many times as possible until you disable the reward.
If you don’t want any given reward to be active on a specific day, you will need to disable it on that day.
If the Daily limits feature is disabled for the current day, children will still be able to complete rewards and get them approved. But the rewarded time will be added to their overall limit only if you enable Daily limits.
The amount of rewarded time will never exceed the amount of time in a day so if you leave a child's device in Child mode till the end of the day, the rewards can still be completed and approved but the time won’t be added to the daily limit.
